Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SD Dumper(“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our website at sddumper.comand the SD Dumper macOS application (together, the “Service”).
SD Dumper is an open-source project. The application source is public; this policy covers how we handle data for the website and any builds we publish.
Contact for privacy questions: support@sddumper.com.
1. The desktop app is local-first (macOS)
SD Dumper is a macOS application that reads media from storage devices you attach (for example SD cards) and writes into locations you choose on your Mac. By design:
- We do not require an account to run basic ingest.
- We do not upload your media to our servers as part of the dump workflow. Media stays on devices and volumes you control unless you later move it yourself.
- The app may store local preferences, job history, and diagnostic logs on your Mac to operate the product.
- Builds you compile from source are under your control; third-party forks may behave differently — this policy applies to official builds and this website.
2. Website information
When you visit this website we may process:
- Technical request data routinely handled by our hosting and reverse proxy (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and reliability.
- Optional analytics only if we enable a privacy-respecting provider (Plausible or Umami) in site settings and configure the matching environment variables. Until both are set, no analytics script is loaded.
- Contact email if you write to us (for example via the support address). We use that correspondence to respond and improve the product.
We do not run advertising trackers on this site. We do not sell personal information.
3. CMS / admin
The marketing site is managed with a CMS. Access to /admin is limited to operators we authorize. Content and media uploaded there are stored on our hosting infrastructure for publishing the public site.
4. Retention
Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations. Email you send us is retained as long as the conversation is relevant. You can request deletion of correspondence by emailing support.
5. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the revised policy.
